Back from a one hour walk in the spring forest

I’m just back from a one hour walk in the spring forest near my home.
I love this wonderful spring time when the leaves on the trees begin to
grow in a light green. The canopy at this time lets the sun shine thru the
crown of the trees and therefore flowers are in full bloom, surrounded
by a green carpet of moss. It is a wonderful time just now.
It is so quiet and I can listen to the birdsong. Two merles are communicating
with each other. A grey squirrel jumps agile from branch to branch and evenfrom tree to tree.
I pass a staple of fresh cut lumber in one meter pieces, prepared to pickup.
A little further on my walk is an area with new planted little trees in order to
afforest. Each one protected with a plastic tube in order to avoid damages
caused thru animals, especially the whit-tail deers. Afforesting is a must by
the regulation that says that every m2 of forest cut, has to be replaced by
afforesting.
There are still numerous deracinated trees around since a very strong storm
last autumn. There is a lot of work to do for the lumbermen.
The only people which come across are joggers, nordic walkers (with the sticks)
and bikers. The deciduous forest is a recreation area and a natural sports area as well.
A walk thru the forest is for me the most relaxing activity I can think of.
